Recently, my family and I helped raise money for an organization called Lend Us Some Muscle. “Lend us some muscle is a global campaign where people flex their muscles to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA), a rare disease that robs young people of their mobility. FA is a disease that I was diagnosed with at 11. I continue to struggle with this disease. It meant a lot to me to help raise awareness for other people struggling with the same disease.

Over the past week my sister and I have been collecting old books around our house. We have been donating the books to charities around my town. Reading books is probably one of the most important things to me. Helping others get the opportunity to escape into another world through reading makes me overjoyed.
Recently, my sister and I have been running a food drive. We have been reaching out to family members and family friends to gather as much food as we can. Due to Covid finding service is really hard, and that's why we chose to do this. Donating to people in need gives you the feeling that you are being helpful.
Over the summer, I decided to go through old things in my house. We went through and donated the items that we don’t need nor use. Overall we had a lot of items to give away. Donating to people in need gives a sense of responsibility and gives a high self esteem.
